Sr (Dr) Renu Rita Silvano OCV, STD, is a member of the Order of Consecrated Virgins since 1992. She earned a Doctorate in Sacred Theology from the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas – Angelicum, Rome, in 1991. She was nominated by Pope Benedict XVI to participate in the 2005 Synod of Bishops in Rome on “The Eucharist in the Life and Mission of the Church”. She was Director of the Catholic Bible Institute, Mumbai from 1997 to 2021. She was Vice-President of the National Service Team of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal in India, and a member of the Executive Committee of the worldwide Catholic Biblical Federation. She has authored several books, including The Mother of Jesus, Seeking Jesus in the Old Testament, and God’s Word Is Spirit and Life, and was the Editor of the ‘Bible Aglow’ magazine till its 100th issue in 2021.
