The apostolic exhortation of Pope Saint John Paul II, Vita Consecrata, published 25 years ago, highlighted various forms of consecrated life and encouraged those living that consecration courageously for Jesus and his gospel of love. This book, taking into consideration the witness of the consecrated who have gone to the root of Jesus’ love, fulfils a twofold purpose: on the one hand, it enables us to see how a life of faith, hope, prayer and silence is essentially bound up with the Eucharist whence springs the love-urge towards God; on the other, it challenges the consecrated to awaken the world to Christ precisely by means of his love!
