Fr (Dr) Fiorello Mascarenhas SJ, DMin, has been a Jesuit for 61 years and a priest for 50. He was Founding-Chairman of the Catholic Bible Institute, Mumbai (1979-2021). He has a Doctor of Ministry degree in Biblical Spirituality from the Catholic Theological Union, Chicago. He was nominated by Pope Benedict XVI to participate as an “expert” in the 2008 Synod of Bishops in Rome on “The word of God in the life of the Church”. He is a past Director and then Chairman (1981-1987) of the International Council for the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, resident in Vatican City. He has visited over 80 countries to preach at Clergy Retreats, Bible Seminars, and Leaders’ Conferences. He has authored 27 books, some of which have been translated into nearly 15 foreign and Indian languages. Some of his latest books include Contemplating God’s Word, Jesus Laughed, and Broadening the Horizons of Our Minds.
